Grand Papa Tra

Grand Papa Tra is a Swiss beatmaker from Lausanne. He has been sampling vinyls, arranging and producing music for 15 years to build creative and active Hip Hop. After several productions and participations to mixtapes featuring local MCs, Grand Papa Tra has been seeking to extend his creations to the broader worldwide hip hop scene with his first album « Rules of Attraction » (2008).

During his entire career Grand Papa Tra has been exploring several directions, creating beats also beyond the hip hop sphere and using a musical talent for other projects such as with the trip hop band « Tiger Stunting Club » (Album to be released in 2012).

Recently, Grand Papa Tra has been also focussing on producing all tracks for the Switzerland-based English speaking rap band « Counteract » (Album « Brocas Area realesed in June 2011). His active presence with the Swiss and also the international Hip Hop scene brought him to think beyond borders and travel overseas.

In September 2011, he came to NYC to work on a project in the cradle of Hip Hop to live his dream and collaborate with the finest icons of underground rap and also the rising stars of New York hip hop. The album« Lost in New York » was released in March 2012 featuring artists as : Sadat X, Royal Flush, Mic Geronimo, Nutso, Punchline and more.
